Let the Sunshine In
MANILA, Philippines — To be a beautiful woman is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because it opens doors to opportunities that would not otherwise be as available to those who do not have the “it” factor. A curse because — in a world full of people who judge, especially online — a beautiful woman can be objectified and reduced to her most obvious physical assets.

Risqué Magazine goes beyond the cliché. We reveal the other side of these sexy stars who are unafraid to show skin for the sake of their art. They are beautifully human, imperfectly perfect, and more than just their celebrity.
Like our first cover girl, Sunshine Guimary.
We caught up with Sunshine one afternoon while she was resting between engagements. She was not feeling well but accommodated our interview, knowing it would help her connect with her fans.

Hi, Sunshine! How are you today?
I’m feeling great today working on this new project.
What is your typical day like now that you’re so popular and in-demand?
My typical day begins with me waking up beside my two puppies. This puts me in a good mood. Taking care of them is how I start my day. It’s an important part of my morning routine.

VIVAMAX is huge these days, especially among male viewers/subscribers. How do you feel about this?
I’m so grateful for the success of VIVAMAX. I’m proud of the fact that I was among the talents who launched the channel, and I am happy about its current success.
Beautiful women like you could receive love from other women, but also hate. How do you manage this?
I just love everyone. Love me or hate me, I just love them. Life is short and we have to enjoy every moment.

You are known to be the VIVAMAX star with the highest following on social media. What do people not know about you yet?
People don’t really know much about my personal life. They don’t know that I try to be a good daughter. Every time my family has a problem or someone tries to hurt them, I defend them with everything I have. Kaaway ng family ko, kaaway ko rin. Ako makakalaban mo.
A lot of people find it hard to admit they watch VIVAMAX. There is a lot of shyness when we talk about sex. What are your thoughts on this?
I respect their views. I think nowadays we’re pretty open about sex; in school they already have sex education. But in general if people can’t admit they like our content, maybe because they’re afraid of getting judged, and I respect that.

My advice is this: The more you are honest with yourself and what you like, life will feel lighter. You will feel happier. So don’t be shy.
Even a woman as beautiful as Sunshine credits VIVAMAX for helping boost her confidence. Despite her success, her dreams are pretty simple: to eventually be issued a US visa and make it on primetime television. She’ll get there with our continued support.

We closed our interview with a simple message of gratitude:
“To all my fans, mahal na mahal ko kayo. You make my days beautiful and bright. You are my rock, especially when my dad recently passed away,” Sunshine says. “Every message I received ko truly melted my heart. I love you guys so much.”
